Hmmmmm....It's One Of Them Days: The Skies Are Dark

"Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him." (Psalm 34:8)

This verse has been hitting home for...well, since I read it this morning. My Grandmother is believed to of had a mini stoke this week.And after hearing her tell me that she would not be here for my graduation in less than 4 years and that she was proud of me; I was done. Driving back to campus in tears I made it back as the skies turned darker and the rains came a running! Dashing inside my first thought was I needed to be alone. Well, that did not happen, my friends wanted to cheer me up. It worked, but as I laid in the silence falling asleep, memories sprung up of Grandma and myself. I was done.
This morning for some reason, way before my alarm went off I decided to get up early and spend some time in the word. A comfy hoodie, my Bible, and one of my favorite books by Tony Nolan: "The Hurt Healer" and I was ready to go. I decided to read Galatians since I had to read it for my New Testament class...unfortunately I'll have to read it again because I do not remember what I read. But as I started reading The Hurt Healer this verse was in it...I related.

Aren't the good times in life times of refreshment? Doesn't those times prepare us for the bad? When we know that the Lord is good doesn't that help us trust Him more? I think the answer is yes! By understanding how good God is during our times of good and refreshment, it's easier(not bad free), when life seems to get so dark and those clouds tend to be a shade that should not be considered a lovely shade. So as I wait for news of my Grandmother I know that my God, my Father is good. My Papa is GREAT! And even those the clouds are still not the shade they should be, I know that my God is taking care of me and my Grandmother. Regardless of what happens I can rest assured knowing that God is in control and everything will be okay. You know why?
BECAUSE MY GOD IS GOOD, I'VE TASTED THAT GOODNESS!
