Well, looky there! I finally got around to part 4!!!! Congrats to me! :)
Day 4, was I think one of my most memorable days....
My team went to a place called SonFest, which is almost like a day care camp(Christian). The people that own it, the Tillmans, are one word: CRAZY.
They around both around 90, slow to walk around and they have been in Children's ministry-can I exaggerate a little? FOREVER!
How great it was to spend time with them! We taught the kids songs with actions, which I was made to lead a song, "Father Abraham" and at first I was like, "NO WAY!" but kids never seem to mind voices that sound like dying cats. (That would be my voice.) I wasn't blessed in the singing department. ;) Than we played with them, got to know them, sat with them for a lesson. My arm was killing me...but it was killing me with a child sitting in my arms....nothing could be better.
The kids loved having someone to play with, to listen. To just love on them. And that's what we did. Having to leave there was the most horrible feeling ever.
While, I was there, Mrs. Tillman grabbed around of me and asked about my arm. I was there to help her and all she thought about was me. I'm pretty sure this has happened in another blog...check out "I Am Compassionate". She prayed for me, and I had to opportunity to pray for her.
SonFest, was a blessing to ALL who went. I thank God for the opportunity to meet the Tillmans and to see what they are doing in N.Y.
:)
