Green Eggs & Ham...Not a Recipe Book In Sight.

By now, we have all realized that the Government has had a shut down. For those of you who haven't realized this, it is. You are very much welcome for informing you. Now I know what everyone might be thinking, "Hey, you never blog about politics! Your rating will go down!" Well, rest at ease knowing that I am not discussing politics, but blogging about something that tags along with politics for most people.
Worry.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary describes "worry" as "a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems."

Now a state usually happens at certain times, and to be clear they do not last long. They should not last long. Yet, the Bible says,
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matt 6:34 NIV.

"Do not worry" that's a tough one. When the things happen around us, it is hard to not worry. However, there comes a time when worry does not help. For the most part worrying tends to only affect the person worrying. (I know, people around you probably are not affected by your worrying)

Many people seem to think if you do not worry it shows a lack of care. But, it seems that this is not the case.

Now I'm writing this not because I'm perfect and do not worry, or because I think people should "chill out" but as an encouragement to strive. As a reminder for myself that God is in control. Sometimes we need an reminder that we are not the only ones.

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow. It empties today of its strength.
