#ItsAllAboutGiving

Recently, I heard the most amazing story from one of my good friends. Her parents had given each of the kids $50 dollars for Christmas. With a stipulation in place. It was not to be used for themselves or for their friends. Instead, it was to be used for someone in need! How neat was that! Each of the kids prayed about where God wanted them to use their money and than they acted upon it.

Giving is about acting upon what God wants you to do for others! While many of us may not have someone just give us money for this purpose there is always something we can do. Whether it is time, resources, or even money.

#ItsAboutGiving this Christmas season and all season in-between.

Heading back to my friend she ended up spliting the money up. Some of it went to the Compassion International Gift catalog. She saw her chance to help with the water situation in Ethiopia and she met it. Her joy was truly amazing!

This made me think, that giving creates joy! And isn't joy such a wonderful part of this season? While many times we focus so much on ourselves that we become complacent and lack joy, those that look past their situation discover so much joy! Wow! Such an acknowledgement that #ItsAllAboutGiving creates joy.

On Christmas Eve, the family of this story is getting together and telling stories of how they used the money. My friend can't wait to tell her family about the people in Ethiopia.

http://www.compassion.com/catalog.htm?referer=128060 is where my friend found the perfect opportunity for her to serve. You can too! There are so many opportunities for you to help! Check it out!

My goal? Is to raise $100 for children in poverty through the gift catalog and you can help!
Wow! With the readers I have, if everyone gave $10 we would raise OVER $100!
If we all work together, we can make a difference in the live's of children everywhere!
This year, I wasn't quite sure how to answer the question, "What do you want for Christmas?" But now I know, and am telling others about the amazing opportuinity Compassion is offering.

Once again, check out the catalog at their website: http://www.compassion.com/catalog.htm
