"On a day like today I am stung by the splendor of a sudden thought."
— Robert Browning
Can a "sudden thought" be deemed spontaneous? Or can it just be a thought that you have thought about for a long time, but is JUST now coming to the surface? Kind of like those crazy questions that you asked as a kid like..."Are we there yet?" or "What's for dinner, mom?" As you got older those questions turned outward about the world we live in..."We do bad things happen to good people?" Yet think about it, when we watched super hero movies didn't we always whine when the good guy got caught, "Why do bad things happen to Batman!?!"
Than there's today, 9/11, the day when questions filled the United States in unison....
Than there's today, when your friend finds out her great-uncle just died....
There's that loved person in your life going through a terrible divorce....
There's today for living.
Sitting here watching a documentary of the 9/11 attacks, I remember that day clearly. I remember the questions of "sudden thought" & I am filled with sadness for the families that lost loved one's one that day. On a day like today. I can't imagine, what they were feeling, what they ARE feeling, on a day like today. My heart goes out to children with out fathers or mothers, or husbands without wives, or wives without husbands...the list goes on.
Thank You, Lord God
for You healing and restoration
in the family going through so
much pain.
>"You turned my lament into dacing;
You removed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
so that I can sing to You and not
be silent.
Lord my God, I will praise You
forever." Psalm 30:11-12
"On a day like today I am stung by the splendor of a sudden thought."
