"We Have Our Heading....HERE WE GO!"

 Psalm 48:14
For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will be our guide
even to death.

Recently, I went and saw the movie Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and while watching it struck me that most of the time these "Pirates" have a heading. The crew is always asking, "What's our heading, Captain?" and are frustrated several time when they don't know where they are heading....made me think of us as humans trying to figure out what God's plan for us is. We constantly ask, "What's our heading?" and are crushed when we hear nothing. We should know by now that God has a plan, has a "heading" for our lives...yet we get so bent out of shape when after 10 minutes of asking we hear nothing. Oh dear, what's that about?!
Being someone who graduated from High School, last year I completely understand this. I was always asking for guidance on what I should do...college or not? If so, which one! Tough decisions. Yet there was voices from everywhere! My parents just wanted what was good for me....friends, teachers, ugh! At the end, I wanted to hear from no one but one- it was just all too much; but what about God's voice? That still, small voice just seemed too still and too small for me to hear. Until I got away from everything...and I realized that I knew what God wanted me to do the entire time, I was just too scared and worried about being rejected by other people, letting people down to follow God. Now came time for a decision...would I sail aboard His ship? Letting Him tell me my heading and helping me get there?
I said yes, and it was hard-But sailing aboard His ship is the most rewarding experiences. He isn't like the famous Captain Jack Sparrow or any of the other pirates or "Good sailors" in the movie. He is the best captain of all time, full of mercy, grace & love. I am honored to sail aboard this ship.

*Ask yourself, What's my heading?
*Who's my captain? And am I truly following this captain to the death?
