So yesterday, a beautiful Easter day, my friend Bethany& I were down by ourselves sitting. Sitting on a wooden bridge placed perfectly over a creek. Just thinking, Just talking, just enjoying our day. The water gurgled and flowed and made our wonderful day even more peaceful. In the water, we noticed bugs called....water strider's floating on the water, graceful moving back and forth. As they moved ripples would go out and out and out and out...till they simply died out. What a domino affect.
Hmmm....That sparked a conversation about our lives and knowing what kind of "ripples" we create when we move. The Strider's would move, and every time they did that ripples would occur. The funny thing is the bugs didn't even seem to notice or care about the ripples they just kept going and going.
How many times in life we do something and don't even seem to care who it will hurt, or what will happen when we moved? How many times have we even wondered, "Is my life making a difference at all?"
Every time we move, ripples occur, have we ever thought about what kind of "ripples" we want?
Living the life God has called us to means that our "ripples" would be from God. Sometimes it may not make people happy, but if God has called us to this role should we deny Him in saynig, "no"?
Peter & John had "ripples" going on in the book of Acts. They showed courage in the face of persecution and these "ripples" were pointed at Christ.
"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13)
*Today take sometime out to evaluate our life to see what your life ripples are, good or bad, from God or not.
*Who's looking up to you, and what do they see?(tough one, write down what you want people to see. now ask, is this what they see?)
*Ask a friend, what your life reflects.
